Dr. Phillips, founder of Cardiology Associates, began practicing the specialty of cardiology in Mobile in 1985. Over the last 30 years, Cardiology Associates has grown, along with the needs of the area, to provide the most up-to-date cardiovascular care on Gulf Coast. The practice employs over 250 individuals, including 30 specialty and sub-specialty trained physicians and 15 advanced practice providers with offices in Mobile and Baldwin County and outreach clinics in the surrounding areas of Atmore, Chatom, Jackson, Alabama and Lucedale, Mississippi.

Dr. Phillips, a Mobile native, completed his fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at the University of South Alabama (USA) Medical Center in Mobile and also completed his internal medicine internship and residency programs at USA. He received his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Phillips graduated from Spring Hill College in Mobile with a Bachelor of Science degree and was a member of the Springhill College Badger's baseball team.

In recognition of his accomplishments and contributions to cardiovascular care in Mobile and the Gulf Coast, Dr. Phillips was chosen as the American Heart Association's Heart Ball honoree in 2008.
