Dr. Kirby attended the University of Maryland in Baltimore to complete his fellowship in Electrophysiology and completed his fellowship in Cardiology at East Tennessee State University (ETSU) in Johnson City, Tennessee where he was chief cardiology fellow. Dr. Kirby completed his internal medicine internship and residency programs at the University of Alabama Medical School in Birmingham, Alabama. He received his medical degree and undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from ETSU. Dr. Kirby also holds a Masters in Education in Exercise Physiology from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia.
